Kiel Center for Philosophy, Politics and Economics (KCPPE)

Research

The Kiel Center for Philosophy, Politics and Economics (KCPPE) of the University of Kiel pursues a research approach in the tradition of philosophy of economics, which combines methods of ethics, economics, and political philosophy. This approach does not only cover systematic topics that range from the role of morality in economic decision-making to the cultural constitution of organizations and the political governance of the economy. The focus is also on the historical and normative foundations of economics, which are analyzed and treated from an economic-philosophical perspective.

In current research projects, the KCPPE deals with present developments in the area of corporate and consumer social responsibility, addresses the common good orientation of the market economy, examines corporate health management, and the intercultural perception of consumer responsibility for global supply chains (see research projects).
