Project at the Kiel Centre for Globalization (2016-2020)

The Kiel Centre for Globalization (Kieler Zentrum für Globalization, KCG) is an interdisciplinary research network within the framework of the “Leibniz WissenschaftsCampus zur Globalisierung”, which investigates the proliferation of global supply chains as an important aspect of globalization (see following link).

To this end, the KCG brings together researchers from business, ethics, and management sciences at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. The KCG analyses the advantages and costs of relocating production activities around the globe from different perspectives. Among other things, it examines important phenomena of global supply chains, their causes and consequences, and assesses the ethical issues associated with them.

The Chair of Practical Philosophy, together with the Institute of Marketing, will devote four years (2016-2020) to the subproject "Intercultural differences in the perception of corporate social responsibility and consumer social responsibility along global supply chains" (see following link).

The project will investigate how consumers of different nationalities perceive their responsibility and the responsibility of companies for social and environmental issues arising in the course of globalisation.
